Last week memang busy giler.. tak sempat pun nak update blog.. What was really interesting in this year sessions was making the media realise that they are a lot of things they can do in educating the audience.. on HIV/AIDS.. on climate change and how this will effect the future generation’s lifes –especially the children..
For example HIV/AIDS – how many of you know that if you contracted HIV today, the virus will not appear in your test result until about 4 months after you first contracted it? (through of course – blood (sharing needles to inject drugs), unprotected and multiple sex partners and parent to child transmission) . I’ve met a couple of people yang has HIV for 15 years tapi masih sihat dan aktif..
Walaupun there’s no cure for HIV/AIDS as of now, tapi medical breakthrough on the anti-viral drugs telah dijumpai, which actually can prolong lives of people living with HIV sebelum the virus attack the immune system (of course kena banyak pantangla – live healthily). So skrang ni, people living with HIV (PLWH) sebenarnya dah jadi macam pesakit-pesakit diabetes atau pun darah tinggi.. Sebab once seseorang tu dah dapat penyakit2 ni.. mereka kena constantly makan ubat seumur hidup..Samala macam pesakit HIV..Ni sebenarnya peranan media kena educate the audiences on all this things to reduce discrimation and stigma on PLWHA.
