P. Ramlee The Musical..Kenangan P. Ramlee..

Since small, I memang minat dengan P Ramlee. Mana taknya, my early life was surrounded by his movies and songs . When we moved to Penang and stay with Pak Bib and Mak Tok, we were staying in Counter Hall Road (now known as Jalan P. Ramlee), where the house P Ramlee was born is located about almost 1km away.

I remembered mama bought for us this one book about P. Ramlee (I think we bought that book masa we visited Pustaka Peringatan P. Ramlee dekat Jalan Dedap, KL) yang dah naik lunyai dikerjakan dek we all. Selalunya we use the book to refer to the lyrics - especially lagu Nasi Goreng and Hai Obat..(masa kecikla..)

Campur cili campur udang kering

Bila makan mata naik juling...

Bila dah grow up, the kegilaan tu dah berkurangan sikit.. yela dah digantikan dengan the pop singers and actors yang up to date kan.. Tapi his stories and movies tetap melekat in the back of my mind.. Sekali sekala bila tengah mencari citer2 yang best kat Astro, kalau ada citer P. Ramlee mesti nak tengok.. seronok, walau pun dah berkali-kali tengok..kelakar.. Ada one time tu I think it was last year, I and Nasir, saja one weekend we went to Pusat Peringatan P. Ramlee in Jalan Dedap again -- saja jalan-jalan.. Dah dewasa ni, perspektif tentang kehidupan P. Ramlee tu berbeza.. In fact, we also notice that after P. Ramlee meninggal dunia, ada fans yang sanggup mengupah orang untuk pegi menunaikan haji untuk P. Ramlee dan Saloma. Kat rumah tu, ada sijil pengesahan yang haji telah dilaksanakan digantung dalam frame.. Sayangnya la peminat-peminatnya kat dia..

Anyway, bila bersungguh my sister Yone mengajak pegi tengok the musical teater, I pun agree ajela.. I'm glad I did go, it was really fun. I was amazed with the props, the stage work (the New World stage movement was mesmerising), the music and the choreographs.. The acting pun boleh tahan. My favourite characters are the small Ramlee and Sukardi, Saloma and P Ramlee (in that sequence). Sean Gazi did a good job. He was really good and I almost thought that he was P. Ramlee.. My favourite scene would be the courting scene between P. Ramlee and Saloma. I guess ramai yang suka that part..

The music was really good, lagu the opening sequence memang best.. Sayangnya masa we all tengah get ready to enjoy it, a couple of late comers enter, and the stupid Istana Budaya punya usherer masatu la menyibuk nak suluhkan tempat duduk. Spoilt betul our first impression. Geram betul.

And the priceless one, with Liza Hanim a.k.a "Sally"..Sayangnya, I was the one who took the picture. Terlupa plak lepas tu nak mintak orang lain plak tangkap gambar I.. Anyway, tak kisah.. sempat berbual and congratulate her on her acting.. Asked about the next round.. She said, they are also hoping that there will be a second round of show..

After the chit chat and on the way to the car, Yone said "Yong bersembang dengan Liza Hanim macam sembang dengan member ja.." Abis tu nak sembang macamana ???
